Message from H.E. Salad Dhabbar

Deputy Bureau

Tourism development in the Somali Regional State is a critical pillar for economic growth, employment creation, and regional competitiveness. The Bureau is committed to building a well organized, high quality, and sustainable tourism sector that can deliver tangible benefits to communities while enhancing the overall image of the region.

Our efforts focus on identifying and developing tourism destinations that highlight the region’s unique natural landscapes and cultural heritage. This includes planning and supporting infrastructure development, improving accessibility, and ensuring that tourism services meet established standards. We work closely with relevant stakeholders to create an enabling environment that supports investment and promotes responsible tourism practices.

A major component of our work involves strengthening the capacity and professionalism of tourism service providers. Through training programs, advisory services, and technical support, we aim to enhance service delivery and ensure customer satisfaction. We also implement regulatory frameworks that govern licensing, monitoring, and compliance to maintain quality and accountability across the sector.

In addition, we are expanding our tourism marketing and promotion initiatives to increase the visibility and competitiveness of the Somali Regional State. By developing promotional materials, utilizing digital platforms, and participating in national and international exhibitions, we are working to attract visitors and investors. Strategic partnerships with public and private stakeholders are central to achieving these objectives.

Our vision is to establish a tourism sector that is inclusive, innovative, and resilient. By focusing on quality, sustainability, and community participation, we aim to ensure that tourism contributes meaningfully to long term socio economic development.
