Language, Literature and History Development Directorate
The Language, Literature and History Development Directorate is responsible for protecting, developing, and promoting the linguistic, literary, and historical heritage of the community. Its primary objective is to preserve cultural identity, strengthen social cohesion, and ensure the transmission of language, literature, and historical knowledge across generations.
The Directorate supports language development and standardization through linguistic research, preparation of orthographies, dictionaries, and terminologies, and promotion of mother-tongue use in education, media, administration, and public life. It also works to revitalize endangered languages, enhance literacy, and encourage creative writing, translation, and publication in local languages.
In addition, the Directorate promotes literature and historical research by supporting writers, documenting oral traditions, establishing archives and libraries, and preserving historical records to ensure sustainable cultural development and knowledge continuity.
