The President of the Somali Regional State, Mustafe Muhumed Omar, attended the launch event of a new book titled “Women’s Rights and Responsibilities.”
The book, authored by Dr. Ali Sh. Mahammud, focuses on raising public awareness about women’s rights and their responsibilities, aiming to strengthen their role in development, justice, and building a balanced society.
The launch event was organized by the Somali Regional Scholars Association and was attended by regional officials, including the Speaker of the Somali Regional State Council, Ms. Ayan Abdi, along with various invited guests.
During the event, President Mustafe Muhumed Omar highlighted the importance of promoting a reading culture, noting that intellectual creativity plays a key role in shaping societal thinking and inspiring the younger generation. He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting writers and knowledge-based initiatives.
Speaking at the event, the author stated that the book was not written for financial gain but as a contribution to society. He added that any proceeds from the book have been donated to support iftar programs for underprivileged mothers during the month of Ramadan.
