President Mustafe Muhumed Omar Inaugurates Sayyid Mohammad Abdille Hassan Recreation Site in Jigjiga

The President of the Somali Regional State, Mustafe Muhumed Omar, officially inaugurated the newly developed recreation and tourism site dedicated to Sayyid Mohammad Abdille Hassan in Jigjiga city.

The site has been developed as a space that reflects history, cultural heritage, tourism, and community recreation, in a manner that honors the legacy and status of the Sayyid.

Speaking at the event, the President noted that the previous location of the statue made it difficult for visitors to access and take photos due to congestion. He stated that the new site provides a more accessible and well-organized environment for the public.

The statue, which previously stood at a busy roundabout in the city, symbolizes the struggle for freedom and the bravery of the Sayyid. However, as part of the city’s redevelopment and beautification plan, it has now been relocated to a more prominent and suitable location.

In addition, a community iftar gathering was held at the site, attended by government officials and various members of the Jigjiga community, marking the occasion with social unity and cultural significance.
